* If you exceed the volume limit, traffic is shaped (slowed down) to 72K. Volume limit is calculated as a 30-day rolling average. You can check your current and historical volume usage as well as traffic shaping status online via the Customer Service site. Only downloads are counted towards your volume limit!
Setup Information
A once-off setup fee of $99 applies for all ADSL connections. You will need to either have your own ADSL modem or router or we can supply one for you at competitive prices (e.g. D-Link or Netcomm).
A USB modem such as the Netcomm NB1200 is usually the cheapest ADSL modem option and is suitable for computers running Windows that have a spare USB port. This modem is approx $99. Alternatively, an ethernet router such as the D-Link 504 is available for $289 which is suitable for computers with a spare ethernet port or non-Windows operating system. A router also offers better security and allows much easier sharing of your connection if you have more than one computer.
Flat Out vs Business ADSL Plans
The ADSL Flat Out products have a dynamic IP address, meaning your computer will be assigned a different IP address each time you re-connect.
The Business ADSL plans without port blocking and featuring a fixed IP address. The Business plans also include considerably more traffic in your download quota so are suitable for high traffic uses or where a connection is shared between multiple users.
Do I have to be a business to get a Business ADSL service?
No, home users are quite welcome to apply for Business ADSL if you would like to take advantage of the much higher traffic quotas and the fixed IP addressing. Similarly, if you are a business user you are welcome to apply for the Flat Out ADSL products for business use if the lower traffic quotas and dynamic IP meet your needs.
Service Term
ADSL accounts are billed on a three monthly cycle, and the minimum term is just three months. There are no long term contracts to sign. Your first payment will be for the $99 setup fee, the first three month's service payable in advance. You will also need to budget for purchase of an ADSL modem or router if you do not already have one.
You can cancel your ADSL service should you need to do so by notifying us in writing. A minimum of 30-days notice is required prior to your next 3-monthly billing date. Pre-paid amounts are not refundable but you can of course continue to use the service until the end of the time for which you have paid.
Cancellation within the first 6 months of service will incur a $69 cancellation fee.
How to Register
See the ADSL registration form to apply for a new account for one of the above plans. DIALix Flat Out ADSL plans, with fixed monthly cost regardless of downloads, are currently available from all Telstra ADSL-enabled exchanges in Australia.
Please note not all lines and locations within an exchange area can utilise ADSL services. Please contact us with your phone number and we can carry out some priliminary checks of ADSL availability to your location.
DIALix also offers ADSL products from any Telstra ADSL-enabled exchange around Australia, including all capital cities and most major metropolitan areas. Pricing for these locations includes a pre-paid traffic allocation with charges applicable for any excess traffic. ADSL account add-ons
A range of additional services is available with our standard dial-up accounts
to add extra functionality.
Additional POP mailboxes
Our ADSL services include 10 mailboxes in the base monthly price. Extra mailboxes are available for just $2.20 per month. There is no limit to the number of mailboxes that can be linked to your account. Your additional mailboxes can be accessed with any normal POP3 compatible email program (e.g. Outlook, Eudora) or accessed via our Webmail service.
Fixed IP address
Our Flat Out ADSL Home services use dynamic IP addressing in the interests of efficiency. This means your computer may receive a different IP address each time you connect. This is fine for most uses.
All our Business ADSL plans include fixed IP addressing for no aditional cost. This allows you to use your connection as a server with a static IP address (e.g. to run an in-house mail or web server).
