Internet Name Group goes into administrationauDA has issued a press release stating that it has become aware that Internet Name Protection Pty Ltd, otherwise known as Internet Name Group (ING), has been placed in administration.
Some customers of JustNet/GoDomains, as well as many other Australian consumers had been tricked into paying Internet Name Protection / Internet Name Group for domain name renewals. Many of these complaints were referred to the ACCC.
With INP/ING apparently now under administration, this means if you have paid ING for renewal services, there is a reasonable likelihood your domain name may not have been renewed. Also, as INP/ING was offering "renewals" for up to 10 years and this was never possible for .au domains, any amounts pre-paid for future renewal services will not have been renewed against your domain name(s) - as this is not and has never been possible for .au names (which can only be renewed 90 days or less prior to the expiry date).
For further information and advise to registrants from auDA, please see auDA's press release on the demise of Internet Name Group.
