Japan .jp domains pass 700,000 registrations

Registrations of .jp domains in Japan have just passed a total of 700,000 for the first time.

As of 1 June 2005, .jp names total 724,233 registrations.

This makes Japan now the largest ccTLD (country code domain) in Asia and the seventh biggest ccTLD worldwide.
