Power information re Sydney bushfiresYou may have read, heard or seen reports about bush fires in and around Sydney. The heat from some of these fires is causing intermittent outages/fluctuations in electricity supply to various parts of Sydney.
Thisafternoon our IDC supplier, Fujitsu, made a decision to switch over to generators for providing electricity to the IDC, and everything is operating normally as one would expect.
Rest assured that Fujitsu has large diesel supplies at the IDC, and are monitoring both the power situation and the diesel consumption regularly. We are also in touch with the electricity supply company to determine when we can expect stability of supply, and revert to normal operations. If we do switch back to normal electrical supply, and there is another electrical outage, our generators are programmed to come back on line automatically. Our equipment receives power supply from the UPS sources, so we should not notice any of this switching and no interruptions to service are anticipated.
